The attack is part of an evil plan to revive the Great Evil Phantom, Gyumao, who has been sealed in a tomb for 500 years. Heaven sends emissary Genjo Sanzo to the far western kingdom of Tenjikukoku with three companions: Son Goku, Sha Gojyo and Cho Hakkai. The four must prevent Gyumao from being completely resurrected and find out who is responsible for the evil plan...
